Think the atmosphere is getting warmer? Be glad you’re not a coral reef. Researchers at the Carnegie Institution’s Department of Global Ecology say ocean chemistry is suffering even more from rising carbon dioxide levels. By 2050, they say, 98 percent of today’s coral reefs will be in waters too acidic to support their growth.
