Rock the Planet: Mickey Flynn’s “Try and Try Again”
Suffolk, UK-based musician Mickey Flynn stays busy playing clubs and pubs around England. In between gigs, though, he’s been working on an environmentally-themed song, “Try and Try Again.” While he’s still tweaking the song, he shared this live version with us (it was recorded earlier this month). Was sitting at the computer on the night it kicked off sometime just after midnight – I have never felt a quake before and when I started feeling a slight rumbling creeping up from behind me I firstly thought that it was a harvester or a large truck coming up my country lane facing North behind me from my office chair – when the tv screen started shaking a bit more violently I then thought for a sec that Ide drunk too much Claymore scotch’s and done too many hours knocking up posters and letters – when it was I would say about 20 feet behind me thats when I guess it sunk in “arghh as you sort of say to urself ” a feeling that the whole planet from horizon to horizon under your feet is on the move – just a gentle shuddering motion as I sat rooted to my chair and felt it go under my feet and fade away into the distance infront of me – thinking back to watching aftershocks on TV I ran upstairs to wake up my fiancee who had gone to bed earlier, believe me even I cant wake her up when she is asleep but she had woken up saying had I felt something strange – yeah I said get your butt outta bed were going outside that was an earthquake – We checked outside with a torch checked the phones to find luckily nothing damaged or destroyed and can only say LIKE WOW THAT WERE REAL POWER !!!!!!! ….
