US Has Highest Use of Public Transportation in 50 Years
Use of public transportation in the United States rose to its highest level in 50 years last year, with a growth rate of 2.1%.

so, 50 years after GM started buying and closing mass transit networks, as GM’s fortunes are falling, the damage is finally starting to heal? And to think, all that it has taken is a global environmental crisis.
It’s called working people not being able to pay to drive to work.

My college subsidizes the bus fare in and around the campus, so I’d be silly not to ride public. Additionally, since it’s mostly campus traffic (e.g., students), the proportion of creepy people is significantly lower.
