Stop Talking on That Cell Phone

cell3.jpgCell phones could kill far more people than smoking or asbestos, suggests award-winning cancer expert Dr Vini Khurana.  Dr. Khurana says people should avoid using mobile phones whenever possible, and governments must take “immediate steps” to reduce exposure to their radiation. He concludes that “there is a significant and increasing body of evidence for a link between mobile phone usage and certain brain tumours”

  1. Oh, boy, here we go again! Why does the cell phone – tumor myth keep coming up? Dr. Khurana claims are largely exaggerated and are not consistent with what the World Health Association says, nor what many, many other scientific studies have found. See here for more on that.

Smoking is still the real killer: you are 20 times more likely to die from tobacco than from a primary brain tumor.

  2. Agreed. Use of cell phones is an individual concern, and those who work in the area with them should not be exposed to the radiation generated from their use.
Users should have the same courtesy as smokers, and be forced to go outside. Buildings and employees should be free of second hand radiation, just as we should be free of second hand smoke.
