Let Kids be Kids … Outdoors
In yet another sad commentary on today’s generation of children, researchers in the U.K. report that 25 percent of British children between the ages of 8 and 10 have never played outside without an adult close by. Meanwhile, in the U.S., too many children find nature boring unless it’s on TV. Hey, spring’s here: time to get the kids outdoors to garden, hike, or birdwatch!
Children between the ages 8 and 10 should never play outside without and adult close by. It’s not sad, it’s called being a good parent. A child of 8 is not old enough to deal with any unsafe situations or fend off any predators.
