I think it is great that Ikea is completely doing away with plastic bags altogether. Even though they reduced their plastic bag usage to 35 million, 0 is such a better number! Go Ikea for first of all saving money from not producing plastic bags and helping saving the environment! What a combination!

Ikea has come a long way in the last ten years, and is becoming a model for other big box stores to follow. For years, I refused to shop there because of where they were getting their wood. But they have started doing a much better job of making sure that the wood they use does not come from endangered forests. The fact that they are helping to curb the “Urban Tumbleweed” blight of plastic bags, goes a long toward getting me to walk in the front door again.

Now if they only sold decent furniture, I’d be all set.
