Can’t Boil an Egg? - Buy Precooked and Also Reduce Your Carbon Footprint.

Hard Boiled Eggs

Major United Kingdom supermarkets are offering precooked and peeled hard boiled eggs at a 50 % price premium over fresh eggs.

Assuming a reasonable turnover and the ability to process large numbers of eggs with efficient technology, these eggs would clearly reduce the farm to fork carbon footprint. However, more importantly the classic excuse of “I can’t even boil an egg” would need to change!

  1. This is absurd. I understand why some might want to buy pre-cooked eggs, however to try and make it into an eco argument is just plain green-washing. Learning how to cook is ultimately much better for the planet and your individual health because you will wean yourself off the pre packaged foods which really harm the planet because of the GM ingredients, the waste caused by the packaging, and the general lack of nutrition.

  2. Agreed - this is absurd… packaging? loss of nutritional content? how about good old fashioned taste? I can think of nothing more disgusting than “precooked eggs”!

Sorry, guy! This one won’t fly.
