NYPR's Plan to be More Green

Founded by Bette Midler, singer and actress, the New York Restoration Project provides 100’s of community gardens and green spaces to residents throughout New York City. The organization has planted over 1 million trees and has helped gardening be accessible to urban residents.

Using Clean, Safe Organic Soil in Community Gardens

Ecoscraps is a proud supporter of the New York Restoration Project and since 2011 we have donated pallets of organic soil and plant foods to hundreds of community gardens. This has lead to over 45 tons of food waste to be successfully recycled. NYRP hopes that as community gardens become more available, residents will become more self sufficient by growing a portion of their own food.
